 Dale Deppe, president and founder of Spring Meadow Nursery, Inc. in Grand Haven, MI. is Region 3 Director of the American Nursery & Landscape Association (ANLA), a Washington, DC-based trade association representing nearly 2,200 firms who grow, sell, and use landscape plants.
Spring Meadow Nursery, Inc was established by Dale and Liz Deppe in 1981, and is the North American market leader in potted shrub liners. Spring Meadow sells more than 500 varieties of woody ornamental plants. Large and small nurseries from across North America look to Spring Meadow to do their propagation and to bring them new and exciting plants. Their son, Jeremy Deppe, is the General Manager of Spring Meadow Nursery, Inc. One of Dale’s most recent business achievements is creating a partnership with Proven Winners to sell flowering shrubs under the Proven Winners/Color Choice brand.
Dale served as the 2006 president of the Horticultural Research Institute (HRI), the research arm of ANLA. Dale feels that industry firms are sharing less and are more worried about competition than ever before, and as a result, growth in the green industry marketplace is slowing. “Firms should be willing to embrace change and growth in order to harvest rewards in the long run.” Dale represents ANLA’s Region 3, covering the Midwest United States.
