Live Asset Insurance
Natural disasters and changing weather patterns have accelerated the need for a private insurance product that could properly insure live assets affected by these events. The insurance industry has virtually walked away from protecting these live assets, and the government's crop insurance program is expensive, cumbersome and exclusionary. This natural disaster insurance product is available to all, is affordable, and above all is easy to use.

This program is extended to nursery, greenhouse, landscape and retail plants whether they are field or container grown, above ground or installed in the landscape. This insurance product covers acute weather occurrences such as hail, freezes and hurricanes and wind, as well as fire and other named perils.

Coverage up to $10,000,000 per policy is available. Specimen plants can be insured for up to $100,000 per tree and $1,000 per shrub (larger limits are available on a case by case basis). Field, container and greenhouse grown landscape plant material is eligible to be insured as well. Multiple locations can be insured up to $10,000,000 per location for the total at risk amount.

The Live Asset Insurance program was developed with the input of ANLA’s Board of Directors and Grower Division Board. Asset value is determined by using the leading national plant valuation system in collaboration with professional horticulturalists and arborists.

ANLA members receive a 10% discount off their premiums. For more information contact David Teed, CIC at Live Asset Insurance 212-843-7129 or visit www.liveassetinsurance.com.
