Bob DeGemmis has joined the American Nursery & Landscape Association as Grassroots & Advocacy Manager for the Washington, DC based trade association representing over 2,300 firms who grow, sell and use landscape plants. He is responsible for overseeing the Lighthouse Program, a grassroots effort designed to increase nursery and landscape industry awareness about emerging national issues, and to strengthen the industry's grassroots capacity. He will also provide administrative support and guidance for ANLA's Political Action Committee (ANLA-PAC).
Prior to coming to the ANLA, Bob served as a Capitol Hill staffer and legislative consultant for dairy interests through completion of the 2002 Farm Bill. As a student, Bob was employed during his summers as a landscaper in Manchester, CT and Nantucket, MA. Besides agriculture politics and policy, Bob is a lifelong athletic advocate. Bob has played hockey at the collegiate level, attended a pro tryout camp, and worked briefly in hockey operations. In his spare time he continues coach hockey on a volunteer basis.
Bob graduated with a B.A. from Villanova University (PA) where he studied communications and political science. The Glastonbury, CT native now resides in Alexandria, VA.
