Marc Teffeau
Director of Research and Regulatory Affairs

Marc Teffeau - Director of Research and Regulatory AffairsMarc Teffeau is Director of Research and Regulatory Affairs for the American Nursery & Landscape Association (ANLA), the Washington, D.C. based trade association representing over 2,300 firms who grow, sell, and use landscape plants. He directs the activities of the Horticultural Research Institute (HRI) related to the scientific community for research and statistics, as well as managing the details and relationships associated with the USDA - ARS Floricultural and Nursery Research Initiative. In the regulatory area he represents the industry's interests with key federal agencies such as EPA, OSHA and USDA. Marc also serves as the division administrator for the Wholesale Nursery Growers Association (WNGA), ANLA's grower division.

Prior to joining ANLA's staff in October, 2004 Marc completed a 30 year faculty career as an Extension educator with the University of Maryland Cooperative Extension and Maryland's Eastern Shore. He served for 20 years as a county and area Extension educator for home and commercial horticulture and for 10 years as Principal Agent (Professor) and Regional Extension Specialist for Commercial Horticulture at the Wye Research and Education Center. There he conducted applied research and provided technical assistance and education programs in the areas of IPM, composting, nutrient management and water quality to businesses involved with the nursery, greenhouse and landscaping industries.

Marc received his Bachelor and Master of Science Degrees in the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources at the University of Maryland - College Park and has completed coursework for a Doctorate in Education from Wilmington College - Delaware. He is a Maryland Certified Professional Horticulturalist. Marc is a member of the American Society for Horticultural Science and the Garden Writers Association. He resides in Bethlehem, Maryland with his wife and three sons.
